Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Global CISO Council?

The Global CISO Council is a not-for-profit professional organization, registered as a 501(c)(6) entity in the United States. It exists to advance the global cybersecurity profession by strengthening leadership capability, encouraging collaboration, and promoting ethical and responsible cyber practices.

The Council operates through a growing network of local and regional CISO Chapters that bring together Chief Information Security Officers, CIOs, CTOs, and senior cybersecurity executives. These Chapters provide a trusted forum for peer collaboration, knowledge exchange, policy dialogue, and mentorship, enabling leaders to collectively address evolving cyber risks and establish best practices across industries and regions.

Each Chapter functions as an independent, community-led, not-for-profit entity, aligned with the Global CISO Council’s mission, charter, and governance framework. Together, the Council and its Chapters promote education, advocacy, and partnerships that contribute to a more resilient global digital ecosystem.
